Suggested Use
Recommended use
Traditionally used as a diuretic.
Directions
Adults: to prepare a cup of tea, infuse 1 teabag in 150-250 mL of boiling water. Allow the herbs to steep for at least 10 minutes. Drink 2 cups of tea daily, a few hours before or after any medications or natural health product.
Cautions
Do not take with highly acidic foods or medications which may acidify urine.
Do not use if you:
- you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- are taking products containing diuretics
- have heart disease, diabetes or edema (swelling of hands, face and feet)
Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have:
- gall bladder disease
- Intestinal obstruction
- fever
- painful urination (dysuria)
- spasm
- blood in urine
Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms persist or worsen.
Stop use and seek medical attention immediately if you experience:
- dizziness
- confusion
- muscle weakness or pain
- abdominal heartbeat and/or difficulty breathing
