Natural Factors Green Tea Extract contains highly purified polyphenols rich in natural green tea catechins.
As antioxidants, green tea catechins scavenge free radicals, prevent free radical damage, and enhance antioxidant defense systems by stimulating antioxidant enzyme activity such as glutathione peroxidase and catalase. The antioxidant polyphenols in green tea may also help protect against the oxidation of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol.
Green tea extract also supports healthy weight loss by decreasing the absorption of fat in the digestive tract. It stimulates thermogenesis, where the body turns fat into energy, better than caffeine or ephedrine and without increasing heartrate.
As antimicrobial agents, green tea catechins can destroy cariogenic (cavity-causing) bacteria. Research shows that green tea catechins not only suppress the formation of plaque by cariogenic bacteria but also kill the bacteria themselves.
Natural Factors Green Tea Extract is standardized to provide optimal levels of polyphenols, including 225 mg of catechins and 135 mg of EGCg. With this convenient formula, one capsule a day provides potent antioxidant support.

Cautions

Rare, unpredictable cases of liver injury associated with products containing green tea extract have been reported (in Canada and internationally). Keep out of the reach of children.
